Put YOU Aside

“If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care — then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:1-4‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Where does Christianity stem out from? John 3:16 explains it- it is deeply rooted in love. I mean God so loved me that He sent His only son to die for only me 😎 then the Son agreed to be a Lamb for the sin i had not committed yet. Look at the feeding of the 5000, the man at the pool of Bethesda, the man with the withered hand, and weeping to raise Lazarus, all these miracle showed that God was moved by love. Jesus walked on the surface of the earth so loving should come easy as Christians, the HolySpirit is there to perfect God in you.

In today’s living where most people are struggling just to get by, it is easy to forget and look after yourself alone, pause today and look at your neighbour, is he/she struggling, help ease the burden by simple things pray for people, do your work well and not frustrate other people’s efforts, ask about their welfare etc all these help make life easy for them.

Remember, the first step in being a Christian is dying to self- choose to think of others today, let’s allow the HolySpirit work the perfect love of God in our lives don’t resist Him
