The most anticipated year is here, and I dare say I am ready 😄
I spent my 2015 crossover in church crying to God about my then situation, I was like Hannah, crying silently when I thought about my state that day and my mum said take it to God in prayers, God will show up and those things you cried about will be irrelevant by 2016 year-end 🤔- she was absolutely right.
In the year 2016 God made me laughed just as He promised Sarah, God showed up or better put- I showed up in God’s plans for me, was it all rosy? Oh no it wasn’t but through it all, I learnt the strength that comes in unshakable faith in God and His promises.
My close friend and I on our way home on December 31st (last working day), were looking at the year in retrospect, she said something that struck me, she said:
Most times when we ask God to do something or change something in our lives, He doesn’t necessarily change the person that is giving us grief or that we want changed, all He does sometimes is change us, give us a new perspective, and that changes the way we see things
I found what she said profound because oftentimes we pray and want our answers in certain format, but guess what even the prince of peace was born in a manger template rather than the expected palace template.
It’s 2017, we had 366 days to prepare for it, let us make the best of it. What are your goals, where do you see yourself in the next quarter? How do you intend to get there, are they Specific, Measurable, Assignable, and Time related? It’s still early on in the year, be intentional this this year, don’t let happenstance be your watch word.
In this world where there’s very little that differentiates us, what stands you out is who you know; yes, you read right- Who you know. Will you act differently if you knew someone that can influence a decision to your favour? Would you be more confident if you knew that you had the power to do and “undo”? Will you set higher targets if you knew you had a sure helping hand in achieving any set target?
The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd. (Hebrews 11:1-2 MSG)
More often than not our answers to the questions asked is a resounding yes. You have the power to influence decisions to your favour- you don’t need to know anybody, you just need to know God and stick with Him with the unshakable faith as the 3 Hebrew boys
“The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.”-Proverbs 21:1 KJV-http://bible.com/1/pro.21.1.kjv
There’s no point of a godfather when you have God-the-Father, the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, you have the power to do and undo because you have chosen to stick with God and God alone.
You were born to make a difference, God didn’t keep His angels charge over you for you to remain a mediocre, so go study that course you have been dreading (for fear of failure), open that business you have been thinking about, break away from that toxic relationship, walk up to your boss and give them that suggestion you feel is gutsy, make that bold investment, do it afraid, do it strategically and do it prayerfully- just DO IT!
Happy new year, thank you for reading and remain blessed 😉
